Ride Custom Back and Quickie Sedeo Pro Seating System – A Perfect Fit Just Got Better!

A few months ago, we were thrilled to introduce a bracket that interfaces the Ride Custom Back with the Quickie Sedeo Pro and Sedeo Advanced Pro seating systems. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with Ride Certified Practitioners appreciating the ease of mounting, and the strong, sleek design that takes up minimal seat depth.  However, we’re always striving for excellence, and we’ve been hard at work making some exciting improvements.

We’re excited to announce that the redesigned and improved Quickie Sedeo Pro and Advanced Pro brackets will be released later this week!

What’s New?

Enhanced Vertical Positioning Options:  The redesigned brackets feature the ability to adjust the height of the receiver blocks, to position the Ride Custom Back higher or lower on the Sedeo Pro or Advanced Pro seating system if needed.

Why You’ll Love the New Quickie Sedeo Pro and Advanced Pro Design

We listened to your feedback and have made the interface between the Ride Custom Back and The Quickie Sedeo Pro and Advanced Pro seating systems even better, ensuring it meets and exceeds your expectations.  The redesigned brackets are designed to deliver the most exacting fit and optimal postural support.

Installation Tips

  • The Quickie Sedeo Pro Interface Bracket (RCB2-QSIB) is compatible with Quickie Sedeo Pro Recline and Tilt and Recline systems.
    • For Quickie Sedeo Pro systems without recline, order the Ride Designs FlexLoc Adapter Plate (RCB2-FL-MCI-P1), and let the Sunrise Medical Built 4 me team know you are ordering a Ride Custom Back with a Sedeo Pro non recline seating system.
  • Order small FlexLoc hardware when ordering the Quickie Sedeo Interface bracket, regardless of your wheelchair width.
  • The Quickie Sedeo Pro interface bracket is currently available as a single hardware mounting option. Contact Ride Technical Support at 866-781-1633 for options if double FlexLoc hardware is needed.

Easing Modifications: Ride Custom Back with AccuSoft Foam Liner Product Update

In an ideal world, custom molded wheelchair seating systems would always fit perfectly right out of the box. In reality, modifications to custom back supports and cushions are sometimes necessary. Changes in a rider’s anatomy or other factors can create the need for adjustments to ensure optimal outcomes.

At Ride, we understand the importance of making these modifications as seamless as possible. When adjustments to Ride custom products are needed, they can often be completed in the field by certified professionals. While modifying the shape of a Ride Custom Back or Ride Custom Cushion requires expertise, our commitment is to design our products to facilitate these changes with ease.

You Asked, We Listened!

We are excited to introduce a significant improvement to our Ride Custom Back. We have added a textile backing to the AccuSoft® foam liner, which enables the foam to be peeled away from the back shell without tearing. This enhancement simplifies the modification process, allowing for more efficient and precise adjustments.

This new feature is now standard with every Ride Custom Back ordered with AccuSoft foam liner and is available immediately. We are confident that this improvement will greatly benefit our Ride Certified Practitioners and the clients they serve, making it easier to achieve the perfect fit every time.

Order a Ride Custom Back made from measurements!

Need custom seating that doesn’t require a captured shape or a scan?

Ride’s got your back!

The Ride® Custom Back is the CRT industry’s superior solution for exacting support for the widest range of needs.

Ride’s shape capture process allows the Custom Back to be made to fit virtually any size and contour and remains the best method by which to order the Ride Custom Back for clients who present with significant postural asymmetries and require substantial support to maintain optimal posture.

The innovators at Ride Designs® understand there are cases that call for the ability to order a Ride Custom Back without the need to physically capture and scan a client’s shape.  For example:

  • Clients who may have been considered for custom linear/planar seating.
    • The Ride Custom Back provides a better shape, a more intimate fit and is easier to clean than traditional custom linear/planar seating.
    • Unlike traditional linear/planar seating the Ride Custom Back is adjustable in all planes.
  • Clients who present with unique postural deviations that can be corrected or accommodated with seating that has a universal contour, but require other lateral dimensions and positions that are customized and not available with a prefabricated back support.
  • Clients who are unable to participate in or tolerate the shape capture process for the scanned method.
  • Clients who require precise adjustability in the back hardware for proper alignment and support.

We are passionate in our belief that every person who needs custom wheelchair seating to help protect skin, enhance mobility, improve function and optimize posture should have access to the industry’s best – Ride custom seating.

No Ride Designs Certification Required!

Any Ride Designs customer can order a Ride Custom Back from measurements.  Contact your Ride Designs representative to submit a new supplier application.

The finished product:

When a Ride Custom Back is ordered using client measurements and finished product dimensions, we’ll build the same, industry-leading 3D printed Ride Custom Back that would be made from a scanned shape, with AccuSoft foam liner. (Spacer mesh liner is only available on a Ride Custom back made from a scanned shape).

  • Most other options and customizations available on a Ride Custom Back made from a scan are available on a Ride Custom Back made from measurements.
  • The manufacturing method, pricing, and part numbers are all unchanged.

* Clients who present with significant postural asymmetries and require substantial support to maintain optimal posture will do best with a Ride Custom Back made from a captured shape that is scanned and submitted to Ride.

The Ride Custom Back works best when paired with a Ride Custom Cushion!

The Ride Custom AccuSoft Cushion can also be ordered from measurements rather than a scan and is available without Ride Designs Certification. Learn more here.
